The mini story following Lin,
Written By Lin
FIRST: Aria
It had happened more than once- more times then she’d like to admit.
They’d be walking, and something would catch her eye. It’d shine, or glint, or otherwise interest her. She’d let go of Naleen’s hand- just for a moment- and go off to investigate. Usually it’d just be a rock or some broken glass, but a few times she’d actually found something of worth value.
Most times, she’d run back to the older girl, to show her what treasure she had found that time, a smile and ‘that’s nice, Lin’ was all she really needed. Then they’d continue with the rest of the group and she would store it in her bag, in the pocket hidden behind her journal.
Sometimes though, the item would be so interesting, that she wouldn’t look up from it or it wouldn’t be anything at all so she would look back at it disappointed, distracted, and sometimes, when she reached for Naleen’s hand again, it would be different. She couldn’t explain it, and sometimes she wouldn’t pay the difference any mind, and keep walking for a while, staring at her new prize, or staring at the ground in disappointment. Eventually though, she’d have something to say to her tall friend, so she’s glance over to tell her and- and it wouldn’t be Naleen.
The first time it had happened she’d found something particularly shiny, and was so distracted with it that she hadn’t looked up when she grabbed her friends hand. It was, different, and she’d noticed it almost right away. The hand was too small, too warm, too-
“Aww! Look guys! Lin is holding my hand!” She had stopped walking then, eyes wide. When she turned to look at who her hand was connected with- that wasn’t Naleen!
Aria smiled over at her, swinging their arms wildly. “Isn't she cute!?”
The next few moments had been a blur. She’d released the offending hand immediately, and swung her umbrella to gain some distance before racing over to hide behind Naleen in shame, glaring at the girl and gripping her hand with the intent of never letting go.

SECOND: Rafael
As something small and warm wrapped itself around Rafael’s hand he froze and slowly, stiffly, looked down at the small black haired girl.
She was staring intently at some sort of shiney rock (he’d never understand girls) and had fallen into step with him, gripping his hand ever so slightly, head tilted as she studied her.... rock. Really, there was no other word for it. As far as Rafael could see, it was a plan rock, albeit a little shiney.
“Guys.” He hissed, and when no one looked up he tried again. “Guys!”
Alex glanced back tiredly, a bored ‘what’ on her lips- but then she saw them. She smirked at him and he felt his face grow hot. She nudged Naleen, whom she had been talking to, with her elbow and whispered something to her. Naleen whipped around and cooed. The two girls giggled and pointed.
Aria, hanging off of Robin’s arm and noticing the commotion, turned around to see what the two tallest members of their group were making such a commotion about. When she saw the scene, she followed Naleen’s example and made assorted pigeon noises. Robin, annoyed, turned to yell at the colorful girl, but froze when she saw Rafael’s red face.
She smirked and gave a wolf call, “I never knew you were such an aristo, Rafael.”
Aria gave her a confused glance, “What’s an ‘aristo’?”
Robin rolled her eyes and whispered something to her, Aria burst out into a fit of giggles and Robin rolled her eyes again.
From the front, Allie turned around to ask what all the commotion was about, but seemed to freeze when she saw Rafael’s and Allin’s connected hands. She glared at the boy and turned around.
He didn’t know why, but it.... it didn’t quite hurt, but he felt uncomfortable with her being so mad at him again. He didn’t even /know/ what he did wrong. He anger redirected at Allin as he violently shook his hand from the small girl’s.
She turned to stare up at him with wide, hurt eyes.
Somehow he felt worse.
“Wa-watch who’s hand you’re holding.” He tried to glare at her, but her glare won out.
Suddenly there was an exploding pain in his shin and he collapsed. Allin stalked up to Naleen and grabbed her hand sulkily, shoving the rock inside of her bag.
The other girls, including Robin, gave him disapproving glares and all turned back around.
He groaned. There was a reason he hated women. He’d never understand them.

THIRD: Alex
She was tall, that was... close, right? Maybe her hands would be....
Allin stared at Alex out of the corner of her eye, the tall blonde was chatting happily with her dragon friend. Maybe if she just grabbed it....
But what would she say? Would she shake her off? Would she.....
But Naleen wasn’t here. She and Syan had disappeared somewhere together. And besides, Alex was the... leader, right? She was the head girl that got along with everybody and kept everybody in order, right? So, she should just do it. Alex was nice, she’d understand. ..... Right?
She should just go for it. Naleen wasn’t here so that left Syan as the next best thing. But since Syan wasn’t here, well, she’d just have to settle for Alex.
She quickened her strides slightly and reached out, fingers twitching for the contact that they knew they’d receive. Almost there, almost there, almost- almost- almost- Alex swung her arm at the last moment, brushing some hair out of her face and laughing at something the reached dragon had said.
Allin cursed under her breath and sent a death glare at Rothgar, who was now staring at her with amused confusion.
She took a deep breath to still herself, then went in for the kill.
She lunged forward and wrapped her hand around her target’s. Alex started, she turned and stared, wide eyed, at Allin (who was now sporting a rosy blush).
“Lin?” She questioned gently, “What’re you-” She stopped short, listening to something Sylph was saying. She nodded, smiling slightly, and gripped Allin’s hand back.
