If you’re reading this - then I’m already dead; because there is no way I’d let anyone read this if I was still alive.
Alright, so here’s the lay down: There are imaginary demons and they’re coming to eat your soul. Maybe not literally, but your still going to die. And the demons aren't really imaginary, they’re real. Reality is tearing at the seams, and if you’re reading this, then your only chance of survival has died.
Sorry about that. We did try.

Do you know how hard this is?
Very.
The pages of this leather-bound book are wet. Soaking, actually (I’m afraid they’re going to rip). I don’t really know how long it was sitting in the rain before I came along.
That’s another thing: it’s raining.
Indoors.
I don’t actually know if I am inside. I can’t really look up to try and find a ceiling in this hexa-somthing room; because everytime I do, rain hits me in the eye.
It’s really annoying.
I’m only writing in this because there is /nothing else to do/.
Really.
I’ve checked.
So, currently I am huddled under this umbrella (worrying about the room flooding, because as far as I can tell, it’s pretty much a bowl. It hasn’t yet, so I’m still writing) writing in this random diary/journal thing I found at the base of this weird six-sided pyramid.
It’s also dark and very hard to see, there’s some glow coming from this weird gray ball (which could more accurately be described as a spherical cloud) that I have deemed unsafe and am keeping an eye on from a corner of the room.
That also has columns in it. You know, like in Rome?
Anyway, there are six columns, each with a picture. I have also deemed these unsafe (as I don’t know how stable or tall they are) so I couldn’t tell you what the pictures are of.
I suppose I should be thinking about how I even got here; but it’s blurry and makes my head hurt.
I’ll try.
It had something to do with the umbrella that I still have with me. It’s one of those old big black ones, with a hook end and a metal rod sticking out the top. Personally I always thought that was stupid, isn’t lightning attracted to metal? Anyway, I wouldn’t even have it if it weren't for my mother.
I’ve always liked rain, not to this extent, but there was always something calming about a nice rainstorm. I never had any issue walking home from school in the rain either, my sister never understood.
Like I was saying though, my mother made me take the umbrella, that had probably been my great-grand-dad’s, because she didn’t want my nice clothing to get ruined.
Why was I in clothes fit for a wedding?
Because I was going to a funeral.
My sister’s funeral.
I don’t know why you have to dress up when you go to a funeral. It’s not like they’ll care. They’re dead.
But when a hysterical woman throws some freshly ironed clothes at you and informs you that today is your sister’s funeral, you don’t argue with her.
And when she throws you an umbrella, nearly taking out your eye in the process, and tells you to use it so that you don’t get wet, you use it.
So, I guess I could blame my mother for this whole ordeal, I wouldn’t have used the umbrella otherwise.
Or, you know, I could blame my sister for dying. There was always that.
Back on topic: it was raining (because really, when else does it rain except when there’s a funeral?), and I had an umbrella.
It wasn’t even raining hard (not like it is now), just a light sprinkle.
We went to the church, and when we entered we were bombarded with people and their condolences. There were adolescents and young adults crying all over the place (I had never known that my sister had so many friends) and they were hugging me one after another. And all I wanted to do was to hang up my rain jacket and umbrella. My mother was next to me, they were hugging her as well, but she hugged back.
It’s scary to see your parent cry. Even my dad had tears, though he hid it better than she did.
So there we are, she’s wailing and crying out “My baby! My baby!” (even though I’m younger) as if it’s the end of the world or something. We were crowd and pressed and I guess someone bumped into the ancient umbrella wrong because it snapped open, pushing me away from them, there was a light - and then I was here.
Exciting, huh?
Not really. I wanted to get away from them anyways. They were too loud for my tastes.
The only down side here is how wet it is.

June 7th
I must have fallen asleep yesterday. I don’t remember falling asleep, but I woke up, and one usually can’t be without the other.
Unless you die that is.
I’m not even sure how I fell asleep. I’ve kind of been in this odd crouch position for the last few hours. The umbrella placed precariously on my shoulder and the journal between my thighs and stomach. My arms are wrapped around my legs and my cheek on my knees. I’m leaning against the damp wall.
I’m stiff, sore, cold, and my legs and arms are tingling. I have no intention of moving. The only movement I’ve made thus far is writing in my (I’m calling it mine because no one else is around to claim it) journal to prove that I’m still alive.
The rain still hasn’t let up. Not that I really expected it to.
I’m off to look around and stretch my legs.

I come bearing news!
I have no idea where I am.
Shocker, huh?
But really, I’m in the middle of the forest. Weird, right?
Here’s how it went down.
After I stopped writing to walk around I decided it would be a good idea to inspect the pyramid thing. I walked around it, seeing nothing of interest but the orb. It’s all swirly and misty, and I was perfectly happy just looking at it when I saw something move. It was small and black. I’m telling you. Something moved. It disappeared back into the cloud part. So, here I am, leaning closer and closer and - I swear it was on accident - I, uh, accidentally touched it. I didn’t mean it. Really. I just... slipped.
I touched it, then I was here. I told you it was weird.
Also my head really hurts and I’m kinda dizzy, but it’s gotten better since I first.... transported?
Anyway, I
Sorry. I heard foot steps.
I’m hiding behind a tree, I’ll attack if it comes any closer.
Write more later.

Lots has happened! I’m sitting next to a tree right now, letting the dizzy-girl (she calls herself Naleen) and I catch our breath and calm down, as I write this.
So recap time!
-
I was hiding behind the tree, and the figure got closer, and closer, when I finally saw their shadow, I side stepped around the tree and hit her (I soon found out) right in the face!
I didn’t really mean to hit her that hard. It sure sounded like it hurt, I don’t even think she saw it coming.
Anyways, I hit her, and she yelled “Ow! I come in peace!”
Really though, who yells that sort of thing?
I stand there, waiting for... I don’t know, something. I must have waited too long because she said “Hello?”
“Who are you?” I asked her. Really, who was she. Had she randomly appeared here too?
She responded with “I’m Naleen, where are you?”
….what?
“I’m right in front of you.”
“Oh, who are you?”
I ignored her, “What are you doing here?”
She looked, blank? Confused? Dazed?
“I’m not really sure. I just kind of got here. I touched a glowing purple circle, if that helps.”
Her too?
I let the umbrella lower to the ground and tilted my head, “.....Really? Uh, me too.” Sept’ mine was grey... “So, you, erm, you're from, uh, Earth right?”
Does that question sound stupid to you?
She smiled. Beamed, really. “Yeah! I am!”
She sounded a bit happy for being in an unknown area with no hope to return home.
“Were you in a cage with paper cranes?”
What?
“Uh, no. It was...... raining.” Hard. And it was cold, and I was uncomfortable. I think I’d take a cage with, paper cranes(?) over that any day.
“Oh.” She was still smiling, It was a little creepy, especially because she wasn’t looking at me. More through me, and to the right a little bit. “Okay. So do you know where we are?”
Why would I?
“No.”
She pondered this for a bit, “Well, what do you see?”
Is she blind?
I stare at her for a moment.
Must be.
“We’re in a forest.”
She made a weird face, “Yeah. I must have run into twenty trees.”
Then why did she have to ask?
She tilted her head slightly, “By the way, you hit me, right? What was that?”
Man, she still remembered that....
“My,” (was it really mine now?) “umbrella.”
“Oh, why?”
She sure does ask a lot of questions.
“I, I just figured that if you were, um..... well..... s-self defense....”
She looked like a light bulb just went off in her head. “Wait, you can see the things around us, right?”
Duh.
“...Yeah.”
She looked concerned, “Are you sure? There’s nothing weird going on with you?”
Of course there’s something weird going on with me. I was in a weird room that was raining, I touched this orb and was transported here, I hit some random girl with my umbrella, my head hurts, and I have no idea where I am.
Instead I said “..... you sure ask a lot of questions.....”
…. Wait! No! I didn’t mean that!
“Ah! I- I mean...... my... head, um....... hurts........... sorta........... I guess......”
Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stu-
“Oh, alright.”
…. Alright? Alright!?
Well, alright then.
“I’m,” she paused, “seeing things. I guess.”
She guesses? Is she schizophrenic?
“Are you schizophrenic?”
She thought about this for a moment, “I don’t think so....” She grinned, “But then, what crazy person thinks they’re crazy?”
I almost said ‘me’.
Almost.
I shrugged, but then remembered that she couldn’t see.
“Um, what kinds of things do you see?”
Her face scrunched up like she was concentrating really hard on something, “I’m not really sure. It keeps shifting. Right now...I see rain, and it’s really gray, with, a um... it’s the umbrella symbol! Right in the middle!”
Umbrella symbol?
“Huh, that is weird.”
“Oh, sorry. You see, I came from this cage, and it was filled with paper cranes, only they were actually flying. There were six bars in the cage that were different from the rest, and-” She started talking faster and faster, and her arm movements were getting more and more frantic; I was afraid she might fall over. “-a salt shaker, a cat, and a pocket watch. And the thick bars corresponded to the six corners of this pyramid in the middle, with a glowing purple orb right above it. And all of the cranes had the symbols on them, too! One symbol per crane, and they all flew around, and they made this incredible sound.”
Did she say all of that in one breath? Wow. I’m actually impressed.
She slowed down and looked slightly sheepish, “So, um, I touched the orb and here I am, seeing weird stuff. I can’t even see the rain anymore..... The images shift a lot.”
Should I explain my situation to her? …... It’s worth a shot.
“Oh, well, I, uh, I was also in a room. …. six sides.... M-my sphere was grey, a-and the room was.... raining....” Should I say more?
She stood there for a moment, thinking. It struck me then that in the small frame of time that I had met this girl, she had mostly either thought, or asked questions.
Odd.
When she just kept standing there, I cleared my throat. She looked in my direction.
“Should we, uh, maybe, I don’t know... stick together? Just-just, strength in numbers and all.” Hey! You can never be too careful. “We don’t have to...... I was just thinking......” Stupid, I should really stop doing that.
“Yeah, I think that’s a great idea!” She said, smiling.
I shifted awkwardly for a moment before bending down and picking up my journal and hoisting my umbrella up to my shoulder.
“Right then. Let’s, uh, move out....?” Move out? Who says that sort of thing? I think I blushed. “L-let’s go...”
“Oh, yeah, we should do that. Umm...” She shifted this time, looking away. Her face was flushed.
She can’t see.
It struck me as odd, because she could see. Just not what was immediate.
I sighed, turning pink again, and shifted my book under the same arm that held my umbrella. I held out my hand.
When she started to look depressed, I sighed again.
“My hand.” I muttered.
Her face lapsed again, from confusion, to gratefulness, to embarrassment as she tried to take my hand.
I waited for a moment before just grabbing her hand.
…. She was really warm.
We just stood there for a moment, not talking, just..... there.
“Hey, what’s your name?” She asked suddenly.
It occurred to me that I had never answered her the first time she asked.
“... Allin.” I replied.
With that she smiled, “Well, let’s go.” She said. I nodded even though she couldn’t see, and started weaving in and out of the trees like a minnow, pulling her along with me.
-
That’s about it.
We’re sitting here now, I think she’s asleep.
No, scratch that. She just asked me what I was doing. I have no reason to lie, even if it is kind of embarrassing.
“Writing.” I tell her.
Maybe we should head off soon.
“In what?” Maaaaaan, this is really embarrassing.
“A journal I found in the room.........” She can’t see, right. “It’s black and kind of looks like yours.” Did she ever see her journal? “Sept’ it doesn’t have my name on the front......”
“Okay. I wonder what’s with all of these similarities...”
Maybe we were both chosen for some great destiny by an unknown force. Yeah right......
…. Did I just say that out loud?
…........ I did, didn’t I.
Sigh. Great. Now I’m the weird one.
She sat up suddenly and glanced in my direction, then slumped back down as if she just remembered she (still?) couldn’t see.
“Yeah, I don’t think that kind of thing is going to happen to me. I’m worn out from just walking all day. I wouldn’t exactly be a prime choice.” She’s just going on with the conversation, not calling me out or anything. Huh.....
“Y-yeah....” I’m not sure what to say here... “Too much work.......”
It’s quiet again. It’s...... nice. We’re both just pondering, thinking.
I wonder if
Man! Not again! I’ll write later.
*&*%*&*%*&*%*&*%*&*%*
So, I’m going to explain what happened before I tell you where I am.
We were sitting there, quiet. If we had been talking I don’t know if I would have noticed it.
Footsteps.
Quiet. So quiet I barely heard them.
But I did..
“Shh.....” I send Naleen a warning.
I grab her hand and my umbrella, leaving the journals laying there for the time being.
I go over to a tree and press down on her shoulders for her to sit down. (Do you know how tall she is? At least a foot taller then me!) Positioning my umbrella I waited for my target.
I sure hope she regains her sight soon. That’d be really helpful.
So, the footsteps got closer, and closer, and closer...... A shadow!
I swing and -
“Oh, there you are-”
Wait, what?
Too late now.
Smack!
“Ow!” I think I hit even harder this time. “My face!”
My trusty umbrella shall never miss its target!
It was a boy. He had black hair, red eyes, a cat tail and was about my height.
He sniffed, wiping at his nose, “I think my nose is bleeding...”
Just for the record, his nose was fine.
I gave him my best level stare, holding the umbrella in a threatening position.
He looked slightly uncomfortable. “Um, well, my name is...... will you please put that umbrella down?”
Heh, not likely.
“What do you want?” My voice was cold and unwavering. Certain. I couldn’t afford to show weakness. I had to Naleen to worry about now, and until she regained her sight, it was up to me to defend our small posse.
He shifted, “W-well I just wanted to, I mean, d-did you come from one of the hexagon rooms?”
I tried to strengthen my gaze, to glare and look skeptical at the same time while showing no emotion. No fear, no weakness.
“... And how would you know that?” Did he send us there? Was this his fault? …. Was he one of us?
The boy looked slightly terrified and fairly uncomfortable and kept eying my umbrella. That’s right I’m armed, better not make any questionable movements.
“Well, Sylf told me he thought a couple of you would be o-over here, and I should come get you, ‘cause he wants to explain things with everyone at the base of the p-pyramid.”
‘Explain’? Sure sounds like a trap to me. “Thanks. But we’re good.”
He tilted his head. “We?”
Stupid.
I was about to intervene when Naleen stood up and while saying “Hi.”
No! Naleen! What are you doing?
“I’m over here. My name’s Naleen.”
I send her a strangled look, but remember that she can’t see me.
“Naleen.” I hiss.
She sent me a reassuring smile.... I think. Her back was currently turned to us. “Don’t mind Lin there, she’s just slightly homicidal.” I am not! “She’s not really too dangerous, just keep away from the umbrella.” She paused, looking around, “Erm, where exactly are you guys?”
I sighed, “Over here.” I took her hand, efficiently turning her around, letting my umbrella lower.
“Are you blind?” The kid asked, rather insensitive I might add.
Naleen grimaced, “For all effects and purposes, yes.”
The boy now had a great full face. … wimp.
“My name’s Rothgar. My, um,” he paused, “friends and I would really like you to come to this place we set up. Once we have everybody, we can explain what happened. So please come?”
Everything about this guy screams trap. But.... Naleen seems to trust him, so......
I shift closer to her, eyeing the boy wearily. “Naleen?” I question softly.
Her face tightened for a moment but soon turned to an easy smile.
“Lead the way, Rothgar, right?”
Well, it was her choice. Guess I have to follow it.
Rothgar smiled, “Yeah! Come on, it’s this way. You guys just follow me!”
He started off in the direction he had come from, rubbing slightly at his face.
“Lin?” Naleen asked, looking worried.
I squeezed her hand gently to reassure her that I was fine before softly saying, “Let’s go.” and pulling her along after the boy.
“It’s just that, whether it’s good or bad, we know we’re going somewhere now. We’re a step closer to learning what’s happening here, even if Rothgar and his friends don’t really tell us.”
She had a point. The truth was that I had just picked a direction at random, hoping to get somewhere. At the very least we might find civilization.
I nodded, remembered she couldn’t see, and said “Yeah.”
After that Rothgar slowed down for us. Nothing else was too important.
… Well, there was this large square mountain thing, I first saw it when we came to a clearing, but it kind of freaks me out (especially at how close we are to it). So I try to ignore it.
We’re at Rothgar’s camp now. It sort of looks like the ruins of a Colosseum, but more intact. More, modern? There’s two girls off to the side, another is sleeping, and there’s a dragon? I decide to ignore that as well. I have set up, well, camp on a blanket with my few belongings. An umbrella, a journal, a writing utensil, and the clothes on my back.
Naleen, after stumbling around for a while, struck up with a conversation with two of the girls.
I figure she’ll be fine.
I’m off to sleep. Never know when I might need my energy.
Night!

Night!
6-9-12
Worst. Day. Ever.
Well, at least it started that way. Right now I’m trying to swallow my pride. Naleen has been grinning, and telling me how great it is to see me, and alluding to how tiny I am. It’s not fair.
Anyway, before I forget:
She has short, cropped (but slightly wavy) red hair. Her eyes are grey. She wears a black jacket (same style as mine), dark pants, and a blue striped shirt.
This is what Naleen looks like. I realize that I never mentioned it before, so, here it is.
And, I know that I’ve mentioned this before, but I thought I should point out again, she’s /really/ tall. Taller than me, at least. I /guess/ I could be considered... short. I wouldn’t go that far though. I reached five foot last year!
…............ I’m fourteen, and I’m only five foot. Naleen’s, what, six foot? She’s only a few years older than me, either that means I’ll hit a major growth spurt, or I’m a lost cause. Man, heights really make me depressed.
What else makes me depressed is waking up to someone stepping on you.
So, some blonde girl, who turned out to be named Allie, tripped over me this morning. I freaked out a little and sorta, kinda, knocked her out with my umbrella.
I didn’t mean to! Mostly... but I was surprised and it was self defense.
Another girl, also a blonde (her hair in a high ponytail and wearing holed blue jeans and a dark blue jacket), shouted “Allie!” And ran over towards her fallen comrade. She glanced at me, and we stared at each other for a time.
Naleen stirred and mumbled something intelligent. “What’s happening?” She asked. The conscience blonde and I stared at her. She blinked a few times before smiling wide. “Oh! I can see!” Well, that was nice to know. “I can see again! Well… sort of… But this is much better!”
“Uh… Who are you guys?” The blonde asked. My mother always told me that you should introduce yourself before asking about someone else.
“What’s your name?” I ask.
“Oh… Well I’m Alex. Alexandra Nike Webbings… And so… Umm…” She trailed off, looking like she didn’t quite know what to say next, and shifted from foot to foot.
“I’m Naleen!” Naleen said excitedly, “And this is Lin! Wow… Lin! You look smaller than I thought you’d be! I can tell it’s you though… because of your umbrella.”
Well, I did hit her pretty hard with my umbrella, I’m glad she could tell it was me.
“Okay. You were brought here by Rothgar then? That little kid right? He’s not so bad huh? So how’d you both wind up here?” Uh, I opened an umbrella?
Wow... that sounds... stupid.
I’m not sure how Naleen got here. Was it equally odd as how I did? Was this girl one of us? Did she have any idea about why we’re here?
Then suddenly, “Wow! More people! Robin you have to wake up! These are our new friends!” That was the voice that interrupted either me or Naleen from answering Alex’s question. Not that I would have anyway.
When I turned to find the source, I was, well, not impressed, maybe disturbed?
There’s this old saying, ‘you are what you eat’. Well, if that saying was taken literally, I would have to say that this girl’s diet consisted of crayons, rainbows, and unicorns.
Her hair itself was purple, green, red, and orange in no particular pattern. One side was curled and long, the other spiked and short. Her clothes were also colorful; I don’t actually think I’ve seen so many colors in one place at a time. She was like a walking rainbow.
There was another girl next to her, laying down. Much darker and easier on the eyes. Dark hair, black coat, angry expression.
Huh, a rain cloud and a rainbow. They actually kind of fit together.
Rainbow started shaking Rain-Cloud frantically, while the later glared at the former and grumbled angrily “Bug off Aria.” So the Rainbow had a name?
Aria the Rainbow.
“Hey! Umm… Maybe you should… come over here and introduce yourself? You know, let your friend sleep or something...” Alex trailed off, staring uncomfortably at Aria the Rainbow shaking the Rain-Cloud.
“Me!” Said Aria excitedly, “Well, I’m Aria! Aria Mel!” she quipped, “And this sleepy head is Robin! She’s my /best friend/!” Really, it seems as if all of Aria’s sentences end themselves with an exclamation point.
Her ‘best friend’ began to growl.
Alex glanced at us, “Um… Actually I think that Robin is up already so…” She trailed off.
“What?” Asked Aria the Rainbow, “I can’t hear you over this strange growling sound! Who’re you anyway friend?” Did she count everyone as a friend?
It didn’t really matter at that point, because suddenly, a table exploded. I dived towards Naleen, opening my umbrella to protect us from the cake-blast.
I didn’t put it down until I heard Alex ask “What was that!?” Other than that there was no noise. I saw Aria start to lick off the cake from her face happily and her ‘best friend’ emerge from beneath the blankets not completely unscathed.
“I-I think I did it…” She said shakily, “I caused the explosion…” How could she have done that?
“No silly!” Aria the Rainbow giggled, “You can’t cause an explosion like that! The cakes just blew ups-y that’s all! …Right?” She continued to lick herself.
There was a loud plopping sound and when I looked over at Alex (the source of the sound) there was a strange, untouched circle where she stood. She looked alarmed, and slowly turned to a small group in the corner. The boy who had found Naleen and me, a cat, and..... uh..... It’s still really weird, but a /dragon/. “What is going on?” She asked.
The three glanced at each other, and sighed.
“We’d, uh, we’d better talk.” Said Rothgar.
Eventually Allie (The blonde girl I knocked out) woke up and, after I gave her an awkward apology when prompted by Naleen, we gathered in a circle.
Then they (The boy and the /cat/) talked for a long time. Apparently we’re in this place called ‘Lost Reality’. It’s like a mirror or a shadow or something of our reality. What we don’t have, they do. Something about imagination. They told us (there are six girls, including me, that all appear to come from Earth also) that we have ‘powers’. They don’t know how they work, they don’t know /why/ they work. They gave us pendants (each with our assorted ‘symbol’ inside of them, that was /really/ confusing, I’ll talk about that more later) saying something along the lines of them ‘keeping our powers from getting out of control’. Whatever that meant. Some guy is trying to take over (both worlds? I wasn’t quite sure on that) with a horde of strange monsters. They want /us/ to save /their/ world, because it’ll actually be saving ours in the process.
So, basically, their world is doomed, and they turned to a bunch of teenage girls to help. That’s just sad.
Anyway! Necklace! (They called it a ‘Limiter’.)
It has six faces that are rectangular, then has the shape of the six sided pyramid at the base. The top is connected to a black leather strap. The crystal part is a weird silver/grey translucent color, and has a black symbol of an umbrella in it. It’s actually kind of pretty.
Rothgar gave mine and the cat (it talks by the way, if you didn’t get that before. I just decide not to question these things) said something about me being the ‘umbrella’ symbol. He mentioned some other things, but I was too busy looking at my (they said I get to keep it) necklace (also, the fact that he’s a talking cat is distracting all its own) he said I had to put it on, so I shoved it in my pocket, then waited till the cat rolled his eyes and walked to the next person (Naleen) before pulling it out to look at again.
I was still looking at it when Naleen asked “Who are you talking to?” At first I thought she was talking about me, but I was pretty sure that I wasn’t talking. I glanced up at her, pulling the strap over my head.
“Well… um… actually I am talking to Sylph, the dragon.” Alex answered, tapping her head, ah so it had been her. “But he can only communicate through here.” Uh, right. You talk to a dragon. But, when I think about, there’s a talking cat. So, why can’t there being a telekinetic dragon, too?
“That’s cool!” Naleen said, then put on her own ‘Limiter’.
“Okay,” Started Rothgar, “I know this is all confusing for you guys but… well I don’t know what else to tell you. Rafael already said it all I think.” Who was Raffiel? The cat? “Do you have any questions though? If not you can go pack for the journey. It will be long and harsh. We’re fighting a war. We hope to gain some support from the other cities that we may stop in on the way to our destination. I don’t know how hard it will be but it won’t be easy…”
Questions? I’ve got plenty. But from what they’ve told me, they won’t be able to answer most of them. I raised my hand (the one with my umbrella) and when Rothgar saw me, he flinched.
“Um…” He shifted, “Yes Lin? What is it?”
“Where are we heading?” I ask, “What is our final destination?”
Raffiel answered my question, “We are going to the king’s palace on the west shore. There is the queen’s uncle. He’s gone insane. He’s locked all the royalty away within the palace's own walls and he’s building a machine to tear through time and space itself. That is where we are going. That is who we are stopping.”
Well, at least it was something.
After that we went back to the sleeping area where I located my jacket and put it on.
That’s where I am now.
Naleen’s leaning over my shoulder as I’m writing this. Now she’s pointing at the journal all excited that I’m mentioning her.
“You’re talking about me! That’s so great! Hey.... Your writing this down? Haha. Hi, Lin’s diary.”
-It’s a journal.-
“What, not talking to me?” Now I’m pointing to the journal. “Oh. ‘It’s a journal’ Hey, I have a ‘journal’ too. I’ll write in it later tonight.”
-Cool.-
Everyone seems to be in pairs. Allie and Alex. Aria and Robin. Naleen and me.
“Yay! I’m paired with Lin!”
Even the boy and the cat have been sticking together. Though the dragon (Sylf Sylph as Naleen is reminding me) has been sticking with Alex.
“Like a mascot!”
-... sure.-
Everybody’s heading off to bed now, or at least getting ready. It seems that all of the other girls have a diary- I’ve seen one or two of them writing in something- it makes me wonder what they have to do with everything. Did the others find them in their designated rooms? What did the rooms have to do with anything anyways? Did they reflect something about us? Our minds? Personality? Why was my room raining? Why was Naleen in a cage? Have we really been told the truth? Why were /we/ chosen? What’s so special about us?
I have so many questions- they’re bubbling and churning, my mind keeps going through them over and over. I keep biting my lip- it’s nearly raw now, I can taste metal.
What really irks me, is that these... these /people/ who brought us here probably can’t even /answer/ my questions. I doubt they know much more than we do now. It makes me mad to think that I’ll presumably never even get to know the answer to over half of the things floating around in my head.
I think that- gah! I’m just giving myself a headache. I think I need to go to bed now. Well... I’ll sleep now at least, they don’t exactly have ‘beds’ here. We’re kind of camping out.
“Night, Naleen.”
“Wha- you’re going to bed?”
“.... yeah.”
“Aw, ‘kay. Night, Lin!”
Yeah, like she said.
Well, at least it started that way. Right now I’m trying to swallow my pride. Naleen has been grinning, and telling me how great it is to see me, and alluding to how tiny I am. It’s not fair.

6-9-12
I was cold.
I was freezing, it was raining, and I was soaked.
It was just like that terrible room that I woke up in.... was that really only two days ago? So much has happened, it feels like I’ve been here already. I wish I could just sleep, in my own bed, in my own room. But instead I’m having weird dreams about rain.
In my dream I was walking. I was exhausted, but I knew that I had to keep going. I had to get there, even though I’m not sure where /there/ is. I just kept walking and walking, and the rain just kept pelting against my skin like shards of ice water. Then there was this weird noise and I was-
I was- I was- I was-
Sleeping.
I don’t even remember really what my crazy dream was really about, all I really remember was the rain and the walking, but I didn’t really have time to think much on it because of how rudely I was awoken.
When I did wake up, the weird noise continued on, blaring like there was no tomorrow. The sound was somehow pleasant and annoying at the same time. It was probably annoying because of how loud it was.
I sat up- blearily rubbing at my eyes, and there’s the dragon, Sylph, blaring away at what looked like some weird foreign wind instrument.
Someone (I’m not sure who) asked tiredly what it was, and another (again, I was too tired to really comprehend what was going on, so I don’t know who it was. Also I was busy wondering if dragons even /had/ lips) replied that it was a mini tuba.
The reptile seemed to get angry and someone said something along the lines of it being a ‘dragon’s horn’ or something. Again, I was mostly just sitting there, half out of it, wondering how he even had the capacity to play an instrument. Does he even /have/ opposable thumbs?
There was some more conversation before Aria the Rainbow shouted: “Come on, sleepy head, you too! Up! Up! Up!” She seemed to be bouncing on Naleen who moaned in response, then wriggled frantically, efficiently knocking Aria off her perch. She sat up and the conversation about the horn started all over again.
Eventually they started to talk about where we were going today, the cat said something about dogs which I thought was weird seeing as he’s a cat. The angry girl, Robin I believe (it is, I just checked), argued with him. And the happy girl said something about it rhyming and “You’re a poet and you didn’t even know it!”. Though... I’m not quite sure what she was referring to. I think her voice sticks in my head well because she’s so.... happy. And loud.
Robin was going to retort but Alex spoke over her and said how even if we don’t trust them, we really don’t have much of anywhere else to go. Not like I’ve never heard /that/ before. But I guess she has a point. We really do need to stick together. We seem to be the only humans around- of course that could be because we’re in the middle of a forest.
The arguing quieted down and eventually Naleen came over to get me. I made sure to grab my jacket and umbrella, I really didn’t want those getting left behind, and, obviously, my waterlogged journal.
We walked for a long time and everyone was really quiet. Eventually I realized that I was holding Naleen’s hand again.
Even though she could see.
It was a little... awkward for a while, but Naleen seemed perfectly fine, so I decided not to question it. Also, her hand wasn’t isn’t too warm, or clammy, or sweaty. So it wasn’t /too/ weird.
Even though the quiet walk was nice, I knew that it had to end. And it did. With Robin exclaiming angrily:
“Do you /have/ to do that?”
It seemed directed at Aria. As per usual.
Apparently she had been ‘looking at the sky wrong’ or something.
It turned out she had been looking at a crow (Shekaya?) who apparently was part of our group, and not a demon spawn like Allie had suggested. The Cat called him a ‘birdbrain’ which I didn’t really get because he /is/ a bird.
Eventually Naleen started a conversation with Allie and they found themselves on the conversation of blindness.
“You too?” Allie exclaimed, “Augh, that was terrible! And I had to have Eon-”
And then I stopped listening, because I was pretty sure that I had been doing good with everybody's names, and I don’t remember /anyone/ named Eon.
And then Rothgar said something about side effects.
“What do you mean?” I asked. What kind of side effects?
Alex said something off to the side to the dragon and Rafael said “It was the transportation from your rooms that did it. You all had something different about you until the first time you slept in this world. Sometimes it’s obvious, sometimes it’s subtle. It can be relevant to your power, your personality, or... just random.”
Is teleportation normal here?
Besides from being dizzy and slightly on edge I couldn’t think of any side effects that were very noticeable.
“Alright.” Said Naleen, and I turned to look up at her. “So I have weird vision power, meaning that when I first got here my vision power was so intense that I couldn’t see anything that was real under all of the visions.”
She did see some weird things from what I heard. So... she saw rain when she tried to look at me, was that because I’m the umbrella symbol? And.... thinking on that, is that why this umbrella brought me here?
Any other thought process I had was interrupted by Rothgar when he said “Look, Rafael, the town’s getting pretty close.”
The cat nodded, “Good.”
The town that we were headed to was decently sized, from how far we were I could see both sides of it and the train station off to the side. The town sat in the middle of the desert, like a mini oasis, but didn’t have much green to it.
When we reached the train tracks we started to follow them to town. I tried to walk on top of them, using Naleen’s hand for support but I still fell off a lot.
Eventually our group stopped and Robin asked what the problem was.
Alex responded with “Oh, well I guess that makes sense.”
I don’t think anyone really got what she meant by that, so Rafael elaborated, “Sylph and I probably shouldn’t be seen around town. Black cats... have a bad reputation, and a dragon would attract unnecessary attention. Neither are very common around here.”
Which just confused me all over again. We were in an alternate universe and dragon weren't normal, but talking cats were?
“Well,” Said Allie, “you aren’t all black. You have that white stripe.” She was talking about the random white stripe down the middle of his face.
“That only makes things worse.” He grumbled.
Robin glared, “Well, that’s just great! How are we supposed to get on the train if you can’t even be /seen/?”
Alex opted that Sylph hid in her jacket, and the dragon soon disappeared within the folds of the fabric. Rafael said that the bird could just fly around and wait for us, and I wasn’t sure why /he/ couldn’t just wait somewhere, but Allie said that her backpack still had some room.
Some people have their cat in a hat. We have our cat in a backpack. I must have smiled at the thought.
Alex agreed and Robin must have really liked the idea because she helped Allie shove the poor feline in the sack.
“Now stay quiet, you.” Allie ordered the backpack. “Don’t be a baby, we’ve got to get on that train, you’re the one who said so.”
Ah, so we needed to sneak him on the train. Well, that made more sense.
When we made it to the train station, a large white building, an orange tabby cat walked out and smiled at us. /Smiled at us/. Then said “And where are you girls all headed off to? You seem a little young to be traveling on your own.” I glanced up at Naleen as she looked down at me, apparently this was as weird for her as it was for me.
Aria the Rainbow placed her hands on her hips and stated proudly, “We’re off on an exciting adventure to meet friends!” She did a fist pump and beamed.
The cat laughed, /laughed/, and said “Well, good luck with your travels then.” Before heading off.
So, it was a little weird with one talking cat, but now seeing that there were more, and that it was /normal/, I don’t know if I can handle it.
We followed Alex up to the door and headed inside. She went up to the counter and asked for tickets to some weird place that I can remember, I wandered off a little to where a man sat on a bench and stared at the bulletin board there. On it were multiple ‘wanted’ posters of various felons. The only one that really stuck out was this androgynous person, and only because they were the only completely human person (and because I couldn't tell what gender they were), every other picture was an animal or had deformed faces or strange ears of some sort.
The man who was sitting on the bench noticed me looking at the pictures. He cracked a smile and asked “They’re scary, ain’t they?”
And he was right. Most of them had scars on their faces and piercings in their ears.
I nodded, “I agree.”
I was going to ask him about the person one, but someone from the group shouted “Food!” so I turned my attention to them.
“We definitely need some real food.” Allie was saying.
“Do we have to keep carrying this stuff around?” Naleen asked, “My shoulders are pretty sore.”
Apparently Rafael didn’t like that idea because the backpack made a hissing noise and said “/Do not/ leave anything lying around somewhere! Cats are /notorious/ for thinking that anything unattended is up for grabs, /especially/ tabbies.”
“What if we left someone to look after it?” Naleen asked.
“Oh, /please/ let me,” said Allie. “I was walking for a day and night /straight/, and then again today! I can’t take anymore, I’ll just sit here for a while.”
Everyone seemed to like the idea and gave her their things. I kept my umbrella.
Alex nodded, “We should split up, to cover more ground. What if Lin, Naleen and I go find clothes, while Aria, Robin, and Rothgar go for food? Oh, you guys should probably take Rafael, too.” She took Allie’s backpack and handed it to Aria.
Robin’s widened and she glared at Alex, “Oh, /heck/ no. I am /not/ babysitting /three/ little kids. Nuh-uh.”
Rafael started to complain but Allie shushed at the bag. “Quiet, someone will hear you.”
“They’re all yours.” Naleen said grinning, then grabbed my hand and led myself and Alex out of the station and into the town.
We walked around town, collecting what we needed, not wasting too much time. Alex and Naleen made small talk while I walked silently with them.
Eventually we reached another clothes shop and moved to head inside. I stopped though, slipping my hand out of Naleen’s and pausing to stare at the bust that was mounted on an impressive looking column.
Alright, so no one else believes me, but I /swear/ I’m not lying.
/It was the same face as the wanted poster/.
I stood there, just staring at it. I still don’t for how long. A cat walked by and beamed at me.
“Admiring our history, are we?” Her eyes were closed as she smiled at me.
I’ve never seen a cat smile, and I suspect you haven’t either, but trust me when I tell you it’s one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen.
Besides that time my dad shaved his head on a dare.
“What?” I asked smartly.
“He’s the founder of this great town!” She exclaimed happily, obviously overjoyed to be able to tell about her heritage. “Three hundred years ago this town was a mere mining village, but then-”
“You scared me! You have to stay close, alright? You can’t wander off like that.” Naleen grabbed my arm and turned me around. I stared at her for a moment then pointed at the head.
“It’s the same.” I told her.
She stared at me blankly. “What?”
“There was this wanted poster. It had this person on it.” A /person/ not a /cat/.
I was going to tell her more but she interrupted me. “Lin, I think you’re mistaken.”
“No! It’s-” A person! And they’re /cats/,. /Cats/ Naleen. Like the musical. Not /people/. And he looks /normal/. And like a girl and- I would have said this. All of this and more but Alex came out of the store and talked over me.
“Oh, good, you found her. Well, let’s go guys, I think we have everything.”
They started walking away so I grabbed Naleen’s hand so that I wouldn’t get left behind.
Why won’t she believe me!?
Eventually we made it back to the meeting spot and Robin approached us, hissing out “She’s not /there/.”
“What?” Asked Naleen.
Apparently Allie was gone. And so was all of our stuff. I was instantly glad that I had brought everything I wanted and needed with me.
We searched the town for her, sticking together even though I think it would have gone faster if we split up, and left someone at the post in case she came back.
I approached Rothgar at one point and stated “The ancient founder of this town is a wanted criminal.” He just stared at me, not answering. Eventually making a weird face and walking away, I tried the same thing with Rafael (who was still in the backpack), hoping he could explain it to me but he just told me to stop messing around and not to give away his position.
When the sun we went back to the meeting spot and, low and behold, Allie sat there. Looking /extremely/ bored.
She had gone to the bathroom and even taken all of the stuff with her. Apparently we had searched all over town for nothing.
When we got on the train I situated myself between a window seat and Naleen, folding my leg under myself and getting comfortable, then writing this.
It has also been made known that Rothgar and Rafael are brothers and that Sylph and Rafael can’t turn human, but whatever.
I’m tired and my legs are falling asleep. I think I should follow in suit.
